Brushing Those Pearly Whites

Now that she's gotten a few more, I've been working with Avery to brush her teeth. Mainly, she likes to lick the toothpaste off the brush then dip her toothbrush in her bathwater....but we're making progress as these photos show!

Doesn't she look like a big girl brushing here?

Check out those new teeth coming in! Pretty soon, Greg will have Avery flossing and using mouth rinse. But considering his impeccible dental hygeniene, isn't it a bit bizarre that I'm the one promoting the dental health???

Having Fun on the Slide

We took advantage of a beautiful day on Saturday and went to the park. Avery's loves being outdoors, and she loves going to the park. Especially when the park we go to has a slide!

Weeee!!!! She was having so much fun that she didn't even bother her hat.

What a thrill seeker! And I spoke too soon about the hat.

Oh well. Why wear a hat when she has such beautiful hair to show off? Speaking of hair, did anyone notice her bang trim? It was time!

Just Plain Silliness

Avery never fails to make us laugh with her silly shenanigans. She got lots of "Little People" for Christmas and her birthday, and this is what she likes to do with them. Silly.

Avery also loves playing peek-a-boo while eating. What a silly peek-a-boo face!

Avery's game Sunday involved this window (she likes this one because she can see the dogs from it). She decided that she just had to sit on the window sill, but the trouble was...

...her Pampered butt was just too big! She was determined though!

After she gave up sitting on the window sill, she found this sheer curtain was a great cover for hide-and-go seek. She was so funny thinking she was hiding behind this curtain. She just shrieked with laughter when Greg or I would call out for her trying to find her in her hiding spot. What a goof!

Weekend with Mommy

Greg had to head up to WI early Saturday for meetings, so Avery and I had a mother-daughter weekend. Saturday, we went shopping at a consignment sale, went to the park, and ran a few other errands. The highlight of Avery's day was getting several new pairs of shoes. Since we were at a consignment sale, we went a little crazy and got 5 new pairs. Each pair was less than $2, so why not indulge my little girl with her shoe obsession?!?

Despite having lots of new shoes, Avery won't keep any of them on her feet. She loves taking them off, but doesn't know quite how to put them back on. That's why she's barefoot in these first few photos!

Sunday afternoon, we headed out to Taylorsville to celebrate Emme's 4th birthday. Avery had fun watching the other kids but didn't stray too far from me - she's in a clingy phase. That was until she found the bubbles. She had the best time playing in the bubbles even though it resulted in a full wardrobe change!

Though we had lots of fun together, we sure did miss Daddy!

Avery Loves Her Shoes!

Avery has become obsessed with shoes; in fact, it all started when she was able to say "shoe." One of her favorite mischief-making activities is to go into her room and pick some shoes out from the drawer where I keep them. Then, she carries them around the house (photo evidence above) and often hands them out to the dogs. She also enjoys going into my closet and taking all my shoes off the rack, after thoroughly examining them, of course. Since she's growing like a weed (and eating like a teenage boy) these days, we're down to only a couple pairs of shoes that fit...and only one pair that Avery can't remove by herself. Guess who's going shoe shopping this weekend!
